She has been dancing salsa for about eight years, enjoys all styles of salsa, but particularly Cuban salsa, and is mad about rueda (cuban dancing with lots of couples in a circle) because it is great fun and really brings people together. She speaks Spanish fluently and loves the fact that being into salsa brings together her linguistic interest and her love of dancing and salsa music. She loves the Solar Salsa staff team because they are such positive happy friendly people and so is everyone who comes to the classes - law of attraction!

After initially learning mainly crossbody styles (both On1 and On2) he has more recently focussed on Cuban salsa and is developing a passion for rueda. Dan has also danced bachata and tango for a number of years and offers taster sessions for these dances as part of the regular class. His seven years' experience of salsa demonstrations make him a key member of the Solar Salsa demo team. Well known for his smooth style and approachable personality, he is a regular on the Manchester social dance scene and at most events these qualities mean he rarely leaves the floor!

Danced with a partner but consisting of individual moves, it's not only a great way to loosen up for a salsa class, you can mix your raunchy reggaeton moves with your salsa moves for additional style. Mandy is our resident expert and every few weeks we run an extended reggaeton class which usually proves very popular. Don't worry though, if reggaeton's winding and grinding isn't your bag, we still keep the salsa and rueda going in the other room.
